Abstract painting, installations & interiors has always been a passion on the periphery for Yvonne Evans. Her 30 plus years in the corporate world of culture and change taking the prominent position. Immigrating from the UK to Melbourne Australia saw her exposed to a number of significant artists that inspired a "dabble" here and there. A close friendship with Neil Douglas a traditional landscape painter and then other well known painters as neighbours in William Ferguson and Mirka Mora, her dabbling become a consistent need for expression and exploration. Originally only on large canvas her work has gravitated to large wood panels with inspiration from the surrounding environment. Smaller wood panel collages are also emerging with mostly political themes of influence.

Partner them with materials that are true to themselves like timbers and metals. I imagine........"
